Equatorial Guinea has official legislative/regulatory texts governing the practice of traditional medicine. There is a licensing process and a registry of traditional health practitioners. However, Equatorial Guinea does not have procedures for the official approval of traditional medical practices or remedies. Local officials in Equatorial Guinea are not allowed to authorize the practice of traditional medicine in their administrative and/or health subdivisions. Traditional medicine practitioners are not involved in Equatorial Guinea’s primary health care program.
Education and Training
Equatorial Guinea has training facilities and programs in traditional medicine for both health providers and lay persons.
An attempt has been made to standardize the fees of traditional medicine practitioners in Equatorial Guinea, although no patient reimbursement exists for such fees.
